Hardline Former Lawmaker José Antonio Kast Elected as Chile New President.

Following a conclusive final ballot, ultra-conservative figure José Antonio Kast has clinched the presidential office in Chile.

A Commanding Victory

With more than 99% of polling stations reporting, Kast won 58.17% of the votes, overcoming leftist former minister Jeannette Jara, who earned 41.83%.

This marks Kast's third bid for the presidency, having earlier been beaten by the current president, Gabriel Boric, in the 2021 final vote.

Ruling Without a Solid Majority
