Hulu is Producing a Popular Game TV Show from the Producers of Alien: Earth and the Comedy Hit.

The latest Far Cry instalment that audiences explored was Far Cry 6, which starred Giancarlo Esposito as the bad guy, Antón, and was released on October 6, 2021. Throughout the franchise, it is known for delighting in violence and insanity with equal excitement, all while presenting engaging, ideologically themed tales. Little surprise that the network’s decision for a Far Cry limited-run show brought on board two creators whose projects have represented all of those qualities.

About the Series

Adapted from Ubisoft's hit video game series, the short-run anthology series will stream on Hulu and be produced by FX Productions. The show will also parallel the video games' structure by featuring a new location and group of personalities in each season.

Executive Team

Rob Mac, mastermind of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and Noah Hawley, the talent behind FX's Alien: Earth and Fargo, will work as lead producers on the series via their labels, More Better Productions for Mac, and 26 Keys for Hawley. They will be joined by Emilia Serrano for 26 Keys, Nick Frenkel for 3 Arts, Jackie Cohn for More Better Productions, John Campisi, Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin, and Austin Dill for Ubisoft Film & Television.

“FX has had magnificent collaborations with Rob Mac and Noah Hawley for a collective six series and 32 seasons of television, and we are thrilled that they are teaming up for Far Cry,” stated Nick Grad, President, FX Entertainment, in a announcement. “I have no doubt that they will present this story in a way that is original, compelling, and incredibly entertaining. We also want to appreciate our collaborators at Ubisoft for entrusting us with this beloved property.”

Upcoming Developments

Mac will also feature in the show, but currently, we have no details on what role that might entail. Hawley's Alien: Earth was not long ago renewed for a second instalment, with FX and Disney agreeing to a new overall deal with the showrunner.

“Having the opportunity together with Noah Hawley is a dream realized,” remarked Rob Mac. “Ubisoft has been incredibly supportive, trusting us with one of the most renowned video-game universes ever created. And throughout this process, my FX partners continues to lift me up with their ongoing trust and assistance.”

“What I love about the Far Cry game franchise is that it’s an anthology-style show. Each game is a interpretation of a theme, the same way every run of Fargo is a version on a story,” said Hawley. “To develop a epic action show that can shift from year to year, while always examining the nature of society through this complex and turbulent viewpoint, is a ultimate goal. I’m eager to partner with Rob and introduce our common bold, ambitious approach to the audience.”

A release window for when we can look forward to the new Far Cry show has not yet been revealed. The series will be available on Hulu in the United States and on Disney Plus globally.
