The Liverpool head coach conceded that it's natural for doubts to be raised about his future after a further convincing loss versus PSV Eindhoven.
The Reds endured their 9th defeat in twelve games, marking the club's worst run since being demoted in 1953-54.
They were outplayed by the Eredivisie champions on a tough night at their home ground.
“I feel secure, I am OK, I have got significant support from management,” the coach stated.
“It's important to reverse this trend and get a victory obviously but when you're working as a coach and underperforming then it's typical that questions are asked.”
He continued, “I'm comfortable with my situation. It is not the first time I’ve been in a tough spot but it is about time that we changed our fortunes.”
When asked to elaborate on his discussions with the Liverpool hierarchy, Slot revealed:
“There's regular dialogue. They are supportive for the squad and for me and we discuss these matters but they don't phone me constantly each day to say they have faith in me.”
He further stated, “In the normal exchanges I feel the trust. But I haven’t spoken to them after this match yet so we'll see.”
Slot lamented known weaknesses from his squad in their Champions League loss, namely wasted chances and leaking goals.
Meanwhile, midfielder Jones was more direct in his view of the team's situation.
“I don’t have the solutions. Honestly, I do not. I’m saying that to all,” the midfielder remarked.
“It’s just not good enough. I don’t even need to wait to think about it. I’m past getting mad internally. I’m at the point currently where I simply lack the phrases.”
He went on, “It's tough because I play for the club I love. I support them, and I’ve seen this club all my life.”
“In recent memory, I haven’t experienced a Liverpool team going through a spell such as this with outcomes so bad.”
Jones concluded, “But we still have the crest on our shirts. And as long as that badge is gone, we will always compete.”
“We’re going to try to get this team return to where it needs to be, prove once more what this club is about and the reason it's called the greatest side in the world.”
“But right now, we're in trouble and it must improve.”
